Nafa Orientation '05

Yesterday was Orientation day for me. Well, it turned out better then what i had expected. Recap: [Oh Boy! This is gonna be a long post]

When I reached at Nafa my first reaction was WHOOTY! What a crowd! I mean, I could see the crowd from a good 150 meters away. I was intimidated by the colourful crowd. So I decided to go to the back of the crowd and stand alone [AWWW... How sad... all alone] I tried smiling to everyone I saw [clever clever Ruby's advise]. But. Hmmm. Everyone who looked at me smile just stared and turned their backs on me. -_-". And might I add, there were quite a few people standing alone. I guess, they were as nervous as I was. Then suddenly from afar, I spotted this group of malay plus one or two chinese people wearing black polo tee with some dark purple print [which I couldnt see coz I was too far] walking through the group of nervous, twitching year one freshies. All, and I mean ALL, had ciggerettes and were huffing and puffing on them. When they came near me, I finally got to see what was printed on the shirts. Orientation Leader '05. -_-". I decided not to approach them in the end coz all were like smoking and majority had metal chains on them.

Then all of us heard an announcement which said that we were to gather at the "Lobby Area". So everyone made their way to the lobby area and there were booths put up around the lobby and with signs of various courses and classes. So I saw the Fahion Studies (M&M) Class: 1C [No, not the chocolates m&m, but merchandising & marketing] and went towards the booth. Luckily the Orientation leaders who were appointed to my class were very friendly. So they passed my card [Its en electronic card where you have to tap it in order to enter any room and it automatically records your attendace, and if you are wondering, yes, it had my horrible pic on it] and told me to stand around the booth. So I did. After waiting around for a good 15 mins, the OL's finally called up for my class and off we went!

They brought us to the AVA room where 2 classes were already seated. Namely classes 1A and 1B plus my class 1C. The OL's seated us down and as usual, they said they were gonna make us play some ice breaker games. SURPRISE! [Dots*] We were suppose to make groups of 3. I looked around. GULP. I joined this guy and the both of us were suppose to join another person. We saw this errmmm how do I state this in the nicest possible way?? *coughcoughbutchcoughcough* Im sorry, I din know any other way. :(. Anyways, she tagged along. We were suppose to play this game of Hunter and Rabbit. Let me not get into details, coz its gonna get ugly. And after that, we played this Tangle game followed by a game of scavanger hunt. Quite fun. But during one of the games, my group was disqualified and we were suppose to do a forfeit. The forfiet is to go up front and intoduce yourself and tell them why we are in Nafa. I know its nothing for some of you, BUT I know NO ONE there. I was third person and was scared stiff. Then my turn came up and this is what I said "Hi, errm my name is Naz.." when I heard some of the OL's singing "I know I can be what I wanna be...." For some who didnt know, that was a song by the singer Nas. -_-". Aiyoyoyo. Continuing my speech, "...name is Naz. Im in Nafa as a second choice because I didnt get into Temasek" Then i heard, "AWWWW" from the OL's. Haha.

That was the fun part. Following that were briefing, briefing and more briefing. *Snore*

The butch's name was Sab. As in short form for Sabrina. She was the most outgoing in the group. So outgoing it reminded me of Yvonne. The way she talked, joked all reminded me of Yvonne. There are like 3 guys in my class. All are very nice and gentlemanly. FINALLY! Nice guys! PHEW. [No offence to 4E6 guys, but the guys in my class can easily give you a bad name] and 16 girls. All of them are quite friendly. Lets see if i remember their names. Sab, Shu Mei, Yvonne, Ammy, Nurul, Clare, Melody [ironically, she's the most quiet], Yan Ling, Samantha, Me.... Whoops, Haha. i forgot 6 of their names. And the guys are Louis, Dale and Fredrick. Yay! Just 6 more names. Thats all folks!
